Description: Original observation #4893836 (iNaturalist)
Occurrence Remarks: I have repeatedly seen structures like these growing from decaying hardwoods but have yet to find a solid match for them in the literature. I initially thought they were emerging rootlets until I found them on isolated and heavily decomposed chunks of wood. They look similar to some members of the genus Xylaria, but I would greatly appreciate the insights of those with more experience. @pdvmushroom , @flygrl67 Do you happen to recognize these?
