Much thinner, daintier and overall white in context than Pleurotus species- Such as P. populinus, P. ostreatus and P. pulmonarius. Caps tend to be frilled and wavy compared to Pleurotus, as well. In our area the most commonly encountered member of the overall "Oyster" group is Pleutorus pulmonarius West of the cascades in Spring on Alnus rubra and Acer macrophyllum.
