The shorter (younger) branches on the right look more characteristic for the species. The larger (older) branch on the left does look pretty bizarre.

the most bizarre Niebla I've seen... on a rock that is hanging on for dear life at the edge of a 'punch bowl' just happened across this location at the Navarro Point. Wasn't expecting to see Niebla this far north.
