Cap 36-69 mm across, with scattered purplish red scales, to smoother (and yellow-orange in age), stipe 55-105 mm long, 5-11 mm thick, No odor, taste mild at first, slightly spicy radish after 20 secs.
Growing in tufts and solitary from rotting conifer logs and stumps.
