Pores lilac to yellowish-brown, sweet smell, cap is NH4OH purple and FeSO4 negative, stipe strongly reticulate at top 1/3, rest of stipe is weakluy reticulate, cap and stipe not viscid, cap and stipe slightly glutinous or at least very smoothe, perhaps same as MES230. Alan and Arleen Bessette identified sample via pictures as Boletus atkinsonii. GenBank #: MH281863
