Pileus 5–25 mm wide, obtusely conical to convex or plano-convex, lacking any distinct umbo, margin decurved; surface dry, dull, tomentose-fibrillose, margin entire; reddish brown to fulvous or strong brown to hazel, not appearing hygrophanous, surface brown with KOH; flesh thin, pallid with a slight yellowish tinge; odor not remarkable, taste slightly bitter to mild. Lamellae adnexed, moderately close; yellow to brownish yellow in youth, becoming rusty brown upon maturity, medium, edges even and concolorous. Stipe 18–25 1–3 mm, mostly central, terete, equal, slightly curved at times; dry, veil not observed, nowhere pruinose, silky fibrillose; pale brown with a slight yellow tinge, becoming brown throughout with age; stuffed becoming hollow, dull yellow with a whitish pithy interior. Spore print rusty brown.
