@johnplischke @libbing_life please see the update I have made this northern species with a more purple stipe and paler cap appears to be the north American cognate of G. ambigua

<p>Pair in first image are in-situ on fallen log that was suspended about a meter off the ground (and fairly intact).</p> <p>The stipes of all collections of this species in AK that I saw were more intensely purplish than most central CA collections I see.</p>
