Growing clustered and partially buried in black mulch under Tilia along a path near Taxus sp. Almost definitely mycorrhizal with Tilia sp. Odor like the base of a head of lettuce. Taste mealy and slightly bitter. Caps convex to nearly plane. Cap centers pale yellow-brown. Margin of cap white. Young cap margins inrolled but not mature caps. Caps not hygrophanous or rugulose. Lamellae white when young, maturing to light brown with white fimbriate edges. Lamellae adnate and about 0.3 cm deep. Stipes bulbous and with thick pruina arranged in ridges. Stipes not discoloring, not rooting, and without cortinas or mycelial cords. Stipe context white and slightly hollowed in the center.
