I do have to wonder if the curation of lichen species on iNat is not keeping up with the observations. When an observer tries to use the photos under a specific species to help with an ID, most of the photos are from observations not having research status. So the result could be a snowball effect of misidentifications. This observation might be Icmadophila ericetorum, but I'll have to go off site to research that. Unless however some lichenologist genius steps up and helps ID it. Anyway, this was found growing on a mature red alder lower limb.
