Found in sandy soil in a small empty field. Several yards away are pine trees. So in the field it was in there were pine needles around and also several other mushroom species. Was scaly and had rhizomorphs. It also had the two ribs on its sides (I changed the coloring of one of the pics to try to make it easier to see). I tried to remove it as gently as possible, but the ribs broke of during removal. Some sources I read said it only grows in the north so I contacted mushroom mountain and they said it does grow here, its just very uncommon.
