Growing in close proximity to red oak in oak savanna habitat. Top of cap honey yellow-orange in color. Cap surface rough with wrinkles and cracking later with maturity. Pore surface comprised of pale yellow unbruising pores that are depressed at stipe apex. Stipe pale yellow with brown scabers with white mycelial base. Context above pores turning pinkish-red (with time) when cut. Taste in field mild/pleasant. Spore print olive brown.
