Growing among Pinus glabra and Pinus taeda in bottomland-hardwood forest habitat. Caps=6cm; stipe=9cm with lilac mycelium at base. Gills=pinkish/flesh-colored. Kuo lists L. bicolor as western and in the Great Lakes region. Other sources have it listed as western and northern, as well.
