Swamp bay (Persea palustris) trees being killed by laurel wilt disease, carried by the redbay ambrosia beetle (Xyleborus glabratus). Still very active in this area, and adjacent parts of Wakulla County. I cultured the fungus on selective media from wood samples collected from the tree. Microscope picture (taken at 400x, not as clear as I would like) shows characteristic hyphae and spores.
