This was found in a wet habitat on a dead tree. At first glance, it didn't look like anything except a piece of the tree but as going closer, it was noticed there was many on one tree. It was 60 degrees outside. It was dark brown/black, the size of my palm, and looked very thin. www.anbg.gov.au claims that,'The upper surface of the polypore Hexagonia apiaria is covered with very stiff, branched hairs.' It was covered with these hairs, as seen in the pictures.
