A continuation of the 'Cataloging the life' associated with some limbs that I recently trimmed off of a Quercus virginiana located in the yarden. Fruticose key, then Ramalina key... 1) thallus bushy or a pendant tuft from a single point, <6 cm long, 2) soredia absent and apothecia common, 3) common on trees, 4) branches solid and medulla dense and compact, 5) branches not mottled with black spots and branches flat, 6) branches with depressions, ridges, and tubercles, 7) at least some apothecia on the branch surface or along margins, 8) warts or tubercles abundant.
