This collection is also referred to Meliola guarea Speg., however, in Ill. Biol. Monogr. II 2: 53, 1916, Stevens writes: "These specimens differ from the type, which was sent to me by Dr. Spegazzini, in that they have larger hyphopodia, more abundant setae, and in minor colony characters, especially in density of growth. . . . "
