Ok, not really sure about these. The real difference on these was a fairly fuzzy edge to the pileus. But it wasn't fuzzy enough for a L. torminosus, plus there aren't any birch or aspen in Mendocino that I know of. Looking at the notes in Arora for L. torminosus, there is a mention of L. subvillosus, so we called these they. But it would be good to compare to more samples in the future.
