The pileus is chocolate brown at the umbo fading to a warm reddish tan with white fibrils giving it a velvety feel. Stipe also covered with fibrils. Annulus probably not moveable but didn't actually try. Stipe and pileus both very fragile. Gills are a pale, warm tan, about the same color as the margin of the pileus. Pileus 3 cm across. Total height is 6 cm. It's growing in a manzanita grove that also includes bay and coast live oak. Solitary. Returned February 5 to find the fibrils gone and a different look for the pileus.
