Collection displayed at the 2005 Oregon Mycological Society Fall Mushroom Show, held at the World Forestry Center, Portland, OR. When an OMS tag is present, it also has an OMS herbarium number on it. This was collected at Beavercreek, Clackamas Co, OR by Adrien Beyerle, and shows the apical pore leading into the gleba. It is similar to Genea truffles, but the gleba is more complex and better filling the interior space. Sometimes, it completely fills the interior. This is an edible species, and is best used as an addition to cheese sauces. It can have a slightly metallic aftertaste.
