Sclerodermas can take several days of hot weather to develop mature spores in the gleba, as this photo shows. These are Scleroderma laeve, with an extremely hard peridium as well as gleba. Not the interior color of white or off-white to purple, with the purple starting from the center of the sporocarp. This collection was mailed to Dr. Trappe, and is now housed at the OSU Herbarium.
