Rhizopogon occidentalis has bright yellow to greenish yellow rhizomorphs on the peridium; is found in sandy soils with Lodgepole pine and Ponderosa pine; has a gleba of yellow near peridium, white, greenish-yellow or grayish-green; and in maturity (gleba grayish-green and liquidy) has an aroma of bananas. For that reason I call it the Banana truffle.
