Collection will be sent to the OSU Herbarium after specimens have been thoroughly dried. I remember seeing a total of 7 sporocarps of this fungus, many of which were not exposed at all, with large caps of needle duff on top of them. Since one of the keys for G. turbinatus is rapid blue staining of bruised or cut material, I have taken over 50 photos of these fungi in the process of bluing. Only a few of the total will presented here. Also note that the pores of the largest group were bright red when first found, and the stipes were bright yellow until bruised or cut. Eventually all cut surfaces shoiuld turn very dark blue to nearly black.
