Not a collection, but certainly an observation. This was a small jar of canned T. magnatum at the truffle display for the 2001 Oregon Mycological Society's Fall Mushroom Show. This material came from Urbani Truffles. While T. magnatum is called the Italian White truffle and European White truffle, the common names are misnomers. Even when barely mature, this truffle is never white. It is always gray to dark ashy-grey: literally the color of Mt. St. Helens ash when it erupted.
