Specimen was dropped near the highway, sliced at the bottom, and probably a good idea. Phaeocollybia are poisonous. This specimen is dark ruby-red on top, with rusty-red gills, and a fibrous, hollow stipe. Haven't sliced the stipe open. Am currently drying it with hopes of getting a positive identification at tomorrow's Oregon Mycological Society meeting by Dr. Lorelei Norell.
