This fungi is very common during the early part of our fungi season. Quite often overlooked by covering of eucalyptus leaves. When found after clearing the area many more can be found and sometimes some are well exposed on damp rotting logs in low light areas. The small fungi appears to be slimey but is wet. At the time of taking these images colour saturation was excellent and what you see in the image are the true colours. No saturation was added to the images. The spore colour was a light brown in colour and was difficult to get. There is a similar looking fungi called Hygrocybe coccinea but I beleive the spore colour is white. I took several photos and will enlarge one for better ID. Please see images 8017 & 8018. I may have named these incorrectly as I did not get a spore colour. (over to the experts please. KK )
