These very tiny orange coloured fungi (about 1/2" or 10mm ) were found at the base of a very large living eucalyptus. The ground was semi damp and some of the cluster were covered with small twigs and decaying leaf. The third image shows the underside of the fungi, but I was unable to determine if there was any sign of openings. The surface (to the eye) seemed flat. The fourth image indicates how small these fungi were. They seemed to be well attached to the forest floor, or whatever they were growing on, as I had to use a penknife to release one for inspection of the underside. There did not appear to be any stem, but what appeared to be a dense small root system. ****************************************************** Silly Me,, I copied down the name above the correct ID. thanks for the wake-up call.
