Found on dead cedar twig deep in gorge of Third Canyon where it must never get direct sun, and probably is consistently relatively humid. I've studied this species before, however that specimen (observation 13083) was much more conspicuously white pruinose. Curtis Bjork explained that Ernie Brodo is using a slightly modified definition of the term "pruinose" that includes this sort of conspicuous granular texture, even if not white-powdery.
