Found in Abundance under a mixed forest of Eastern Hickory, White Oak and Hickory. Growing through out the bottom lands of a creek. Also growing with This species is a red russula. Wherever the green russula are so are the Red. Growing in the same manner. The taste of both green and Red is mild on some and lightly acrid on others..Wondering if there not the same. (see pic # 4) They are the same in stature and size. Spore print is cream to white. Caps not viscid dry and flesh crumbles easily.
