This was found in between a Beech and an Oak pretty much dead in the middle of the two. Taste Mild. ATE This one was goooood. I thought it to be B. edulis but from my understanding that is pretty much a west coast fungi found under conifers. I use to find it in Point Reyes National Sea Shore. Under fir and pine. This has the same flavor and was good in texture so it has to be a close relative. Mushroomexpert.com Micheal Kou Uses this name B. atkinsonii to describe this mushroom. Based on his description it fits the bill.
