Lepiota sequoiarum Murrill
Ron Pastorino MUOB 27822
Verbatim Date: 2009-10-29
United States, California, Del Norte, Jedediah Smith State Park
These were rather small and delicate with caps up to 3.8cm across. The spores were dextrinoid and ave~7.5 X 3.6 microns with a fairly high degree of variability. They were growing in rocky ground by the side of a trail with tanoak and spruce nearby. They do match the description in MD but I understand that more a detailed analysis would be necessary to pinpoint the species more conclusively.
