While young and probably without mature spores yet, these can be positively identified as Barssia oregonensis because of a minutely warted peridium, pinkish to somewhat reddish-brown, with one or more apical pores leading into what will become a filled gleba. In immature material such as this, the gleba is still only partially filled, much like Genea. Genea also has an apical pore, but typically is extremely small and rarely found in February.
