Found in a pile of woodchips where there has not been rain in 2 weeks. This mushroom enjoys heat! The cap is striate at the margin, light brown in the center,-developing scales with age. The gills are very crowded white, pink hued with dried out ones. The stalk is fragile and has a stipe, though some specimans were lacking one. Fungi of Switz has it listed as Leucocoprinus cepistipes. [admin - Sat Aug 14 01:58:24 +0000 2010]: Changed location name from 'bedford ny' to 'Bedford, New York, USA'
