Okay, after going through Fungi of switzerland and nothing piques my interest, i figure its time for help on this one. Found in swampy area of conifers and mixed hardwood including birch and aspen. This very robust and uniformly colored cort has what appears to be squamules on its very dry cap, and an unusually bulbous base. I thought maybe these were just dryed out and their appearance is changed, but ive included some button staged ones as well that were exactly the same as the mature spec. The were growing clustered and solitary.
