Description: Original observation #53250 (Mushroom Observer)
Occurrence Remarks: A hoof-shaped, woody, medium size shelf found on the bark of a dead black locust tree. The top had concentric color zones and ridges. The predoninant color was dark red-brown. The chocolate-brown under side had minute pores, relatively thick walled. They were not visible to my naked eye but were easily seen with 5X magnification. Some specimens have several annual layers of tubes (Photo 4).
