Lactarius chelidonium Peck
Paul Derbyshire MUOB 55048
Verbatim Date: 2010-10-7
Canada, Ontario, Pembroke, Forest near Elgin St.
Green and blue stained, decurrent gills, looks suspiciously like L. chelidonium. There were several red pines in the immediate vicinity, and a very big old white pine, that species's known associates. I've previously seen it around Zones 04-05, which is dominated by the same two pine species. This, however, was in D7C which is somewhat more mixed.
