The caps on these were up to 5.0 cm across and were dry to slightly tacky. The stems were rather short and tapered, up to 4.5 cm long. The gills seemed more distant than "close, sometimes subdistant", which further clouds the ID. The spores were white, non amyloid, drop-shaped and ~ 8.7-9.3 X 4.7-6.0 microns. The H. camarophyllus appears to be at least a reasonable possibility. The white gills and dark caps and stipe made a striking contrast.
