I made an attempt to pin these down but got as far as a possible Cladonia species. They were growing on a log in an area of mostly Live oak, Madrones and some Doug firs. Part of the Lichen made small chalices with brown interiors and whitish to greenish exteriors. Eventually the cups open to form brown petals. I suspect these are common but I need help from the Lichen Folk.
