Habitat: On soil at the edge of the trail in mixed hardwood forest (oaks, poplar, hickory) Spore Print: WHITE Texture: It crumbled like soft cornbread when I picked it up, it was very light weight and airy feeling given its large size (14-15 cm). Notes: Very well decayed specimen, full of holes and bugs and tunnels and smelled like a wet dog. The cap surface had an odd texture as well, sort of soft like felt, but I didnt see any hairs. Very large spores and large 2-sterigmate basidia.
