HABITAT open hardwood forest on low knob; SUBSTRATE smooth-barked hardwood; ASPECT partly shaded; NOTES thin to extremely finely verruculose greenish crust with faint blackish prothallus, K~y, C-, KC+rose, UV-; ASCOCARP biatorine, red-brown tiny disk, relatively thick even prominant pale whitish rims without algae, epihymenium brown from brown-capped swollen tips of paraphyses, exciple of brownish radiating hyphae, exciple and epihymenium both POL+ clearing in K and C-, medulla weakly POL+ clearing in K, hymenium hyaline, paraphyses strongly stuck together and well-branched, asci with dark IKI+ blue tip and slightly weaker IKI+ blue walls; SPORES 8 per ascus, broadly ellipsoid, hyaline, simple, ~8 x 5 m.
