HABITAT recently burned open live oak forest near mouth of creek by ocean; SUBSTRATE upper side of scorched Quercus agrifolia limb in canopy; ASPECT partly shaded; NOTES lumpy creamy-whitish crust, K+y-r blood C- KC+rose UV- 350nm, rim smooth to somewhat bumpy thick and persistent, disc heavily white pruinose and to 1.5mm wide, epihymenium dark brown POL+ clearing in K, amphithecium with tiny POL+ crystals clearing in K, algae almost continuous, cortex ~50 m thick on rims; SPORES 8 per ascus, hyaline, smooth, simple, ellipsoid, 13-14 x 8-9 m.
