HABITAT chaparral completely burned two years ago on steep south-facing slope at high elevation; SUBSTRATE dark siliceous rock outcrop; ASPECT open; NOTES effigurate, short broad convex matte epruinose orange marginal lobes, apothecia initially immersed near tips (but not at tips), hypothecium with round to somewhat elongate cells, proper exciple very thin, thallin margin same color as thallus, paraphyses with 3 cells ~swollen at tips and unbranched; SPORES 8 per ascus, ~12-13 x 6 m.
