The more of these types I examine, the less convinced I am about assigning a species name. This collection was made from the same patch in my yard where I have found this type for 7 or 8 of the last 11 years. I have called them Boletus campestris. I think I can rule out B. rubellus for this collection, based upon the lack of red context in the lower stipe. But the elongated pores near the stipe are something mentioned by B/R/B within a brief description of B. subfraternus found in the comments under B. fraternus.
