A single fruitbody growing under pitch pines. The most interesting feature of this lepidella is its almost perfectly round and smooth bulb with symmetrically arranged carved out clefts that have a form of an elongated teardrop. The smell is very cloying, slightly unpleasant, but I would not characterize it as that of decaying protein (I am bad at describing odors).
