A single and very large (3.74" tall; 3.5" cap diameter) fruitbody growing well camouflaged in blueberry bushes under scurb oak and pine. I've never collected these in the Pine Barrens or seen them grow so late in the season. Typically found in hardwood forests, I would never encounter these in such habitats beyond late August. It's a welcome addition to my collection of C. caperatus and the red-capped Leccinum sp. I walked away with from the Wharton S. F.
