Large crowded group of small brown mushrooms growing on wood-chips. Damp caps up to about 3 cm across, brown, conical with radial lines, white at margin. Changed to lighter brown as the caps dried from the centre. Brown/grey adnate gills with pinkish edges, about 20 met stem with several tiers of shorter intermediate gills. Stem 7 cm x 3 mm, hollow, brittle, silky off-white with woolly fibres at base. Black spore print. Spores were smooth, oval, brown in Melzer's (dextrinoid), thick-walled, large apical germ pore, 11-13 x 5.5-7 microns (40 spores measured). Pleurocystidia were 32-38 x 11-12 microns (only 2 measured). Cheilocystidia (utriform/lageniform) were 20-25 x 8-10 microns (7 measured).
