Collected from the edge of a sandy trail near Pinus rigida and scrub oaks in the Kennebunk Plains Wildlife Management Area, Kennebunk, ME. This species and another very different Inocybe (my Obs 140279) were growing 30-40 feet apart on the same trail. The very distinctive spiny/stellate spores were subglobose to globouse. Cystidia were thick walled, relatively small and not encrusted. They are probably only cheilocystidia. See photomicrographs for shape and size.
