On ground by Hickory, Ash, and White Pine. Brown to yellow-brown, convex to broadly convex caps, 28-100mm wide x 20-35 mm high. Pores cream to white and barely bruise light tan. Flesh white with no color changes. Tubes 2-16mm long and easily detachable. Stipe 50-115mm longand 11-24 mm diameter at the apex, white, equal to incrassate to clavate. Stipe context white, unchaging, texture ambiguous. Pores attached to depressed at apex. Terrestrial among White Pine, Ash, and Hickory. Taste mild. KOH results. cap neg., context neg., pores light tan, stipe yellowish tan, stipe context neg. NH4OH results. cap yellowish-orange, contexr neg., pores neg., stipe yellowish, stipe context neg.
