On ground under hemlock in mixed woods which include pine and birch. cap up to 6 cm., pink buff, concentric zones of color, whitish margin which is inrolled at first to uplifted in age. Gills close/crowded, cream, attached becoming decurrent. Stem 3.5 cm. x 12 mm., color of cap, paler at apex. Solid pallid flesh in cap and stem. White milk. Odd odor. Milk slowly hot.
