Original observation #145829 (Mushroom Observer)
On mossy ground under a mature stand of eastern hemlock in mixed woods. Cap orange brown, convex, 6 cm., overhang flaps at margin, felted. Pores cream, small, round, depressed at stem, bruising brown. Tubes up to 1 cm., cream. Stem 7 cm. x 15-18 mm., tapered at apex, dark brown scabers. Flesh of cap and stem is white and firm turning a little pink when first cut then slowly graying slightly. Mild odor and taste.
