Original observation #160758 (Mushroom Observer)
From the same place that observation 160716. This is one of the few basidiomycete (Tremellales) considered in the category of the so-called "Lichenicolous fungi". It is characterized by having an Usnea sp. as host (U. rubicunda in this case) and consists of pink-orange-brown galls developing on the branches of the host. There is another rarer similar species and not so widespread, Cystobasidium usneicola, which also developes on Usnea spp..
